Our complete guide to no-deposit car rental in Dubai

Renting without a deposit sounds simple, but there's a bit more to it once you factor in Salik, fines and what you actually pay. Here's the whole thing explained, so you know exactly how it works before you book.

Renting a car in Dubai with no deposit is a checkout option on every car Bintali rents, and we deliver anywhere in the city, including all three DXB terminals. The deposit hold is the part of renting here that people resent most. A chunk of your money sits frozen on your card for weeks after you've returned the car, waiting for fines that usually never come. With the no-deposit option, nothing is frozen. What's worth explaining is how that option works, what driving costs on top of the rate, and how tolls and fines get settled when there's no hold to take them from.

How renting without a deposit actually works

A rental deposit isn't a charge. It's a hold on your card, released only once the rental closes and the fine window passes. The amount depends on the car and is shown at checkout before you pay. With us that refund lands within 15 to 25 days of the car coming back, and if you're travelling on a debit card, it's money you simply can't spend in the meantime.

You choose at checkout, on any car in the fleet. Select the no-deposit option and nothing is held: you pay the rental plus a non-refundable service fee for skipping the hold, shown on the checkout page and varying by car, we verify your card and licence, and that's the whole transaction. Or keep the standard refundable deposit and save the fee. What replaces the deposit on a no-deposit booking is your verified card on file. Salik and any fines are billed to it after the rental at the amounts they registered, with nothing added on top. You keep your money now, and you pay for what you actually drove later.

How Salik and traffic fines get settled

This is the question the no-deposit promise usually dodges, so here's the plain version. Salik gates charge automatically as you pass, between AED 4 and AED 6 per crossing depending on the time of day. There's nothing to tap and no way to pay cash at the gate. Fines work the same way: Dubai enforces by camera, and a violation registers against the car's plate, sometimes days after you've flown home.

After your rental closes, we total the crossings and any fines, send you the itemised breakdown so you can see each item, and bill your card. Fines are passed on at the amount Dubai Police issued, with no admin fee added. Drive at the posted limits and the whole subject stays theoretical.

What renting here costs

Searches for a cheap car rental in Dubai mostly lead to the same economy models, and that's genuinely where the value sits. Our cheapest car is a Nissan Sunny at AED 75 a day, comprehensive insurance included, and a small sedan or hatchback like it covers city driving for the lowest daily rate. Every listing on our site shows a live price for its category, with the checkout total confirmed before you pay.

The structure matters more than any single number. Daily is the most expensive way to hold a car, weekly cuts the per-day rate noticeably, and monthly cuts it hardest. The costs that arrive after the rental are the ones you generate driving: Salik, fines if you earn them, fuel difference if the tank comes back lower, and extra kilometres past the allowance on your agreement. Each is billed at cost on an itemised statement, with its rate written down before you sign.

Getting the car

Book online, set your address or terminal, and we bring the car to you. Door-to-door delivery is free on any rental of three days or more and on every car priced at AED 500 a day or above. Shorter rentals of cheaper cars carry a delivery fee, and collecting from our branch is always free. Landing at DXB, give us your flight number and we time the handover against your actual arrival, so a delay doesn't leave anyone waiting at the kerb. Staying in a tower in the Marina or Downtown, the driver coordinates the handover at your entrance.

The handover itself takes a few minutes. We check your documents, walk around the car together and photograph its condition, and confirm the fuel level. Those photos protect you at return as much as they protect us. Inside Dubai the car usually reaches you the same day you book, often within a few hours.

Daily, weekly and monthly plans

A day works for an airport run or a test drive of the model you're considering. A week fits a normal Dubai holiday. Monthly car rental is the resident option, and it's the one we'd steer you toward if you're here for the long haul: the per-day rate drops well below daily pricing, and servicing and registration stay our problem instead of yours.

One caveat. The no-deposit option carries a non-refundable service fee, because the fee is doing the security work instead of the hold. If your card can absorb a temporary hold and you want the absolute lowest total, the standard deposit route is the cheaper deal, with the hold refunded in full after return. The checkout shows both prices side by side, so compare before you decide.

The fleet

The range runs from economy hatchbacks and sedans through SUVs and 7-seaters up to business and luxury models. You book a category with a named example, a Nissan Patrol or similar SUV, say, and we do our best to send that model, though make, model and colour can vary within the category. For the cheapest daily driving, an economy sedan does the job. For a family landing at DXB with luggage, a 7-seater is the right choice, because suitcases for five don't fit a sedan boot.

If the deposit hold is what's kept you from renting in Dubai, choose the no-deposit option at checkout, set your delivery address, and book. The car comes to you, and your money stays yours.

If you live in the UAE, bring your UAE driving licence and Emirates ID. Tourists need a passport with the entry stamp and a driving licence from home. Licences from countries outside the UAE approved list need an International Driving Permit as well. We check the originals at handover, so keep them with you.

Yes, if your licence was issued in one of the countries the UAE accepts. That list covers the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and most of Europe, and GCC licences work too. Drivers from other countries need an International Driving Permit alongside their home licence. The licence has to stay valid for the whole rental.

Yes, on every car in the fleet. Choose the no-deposit option at checkout, pay a non-refundable service fee shown on the checkout page, and nothing is held on your card. Otherwise a refundable security deposit is held to cover Salik crossings and any traffic fines, and we release it within 15 to 25 days after you return the car.

Yes. We accept debit cards and secure online payment as well as credit cards, so you don't need a credit card to book with us. Paying with a card in the driver's own name speeds up verification at handover, since we match it against your licence.

It depends on the car. Most of the fleet rents from 18, and sports cars start at 21. Every listing carries its own age rule, so the car page tells you the floor for the car you're actually looking at. You also need to have held your licence for at least a year. If you're a younger driver, check the listing before you book rather than at the kerb.

Yes, we deliver across Dubai, including Dubai International Airport. Pick the car, set your address or terminal, and we bring it to you at the agreed time. Delivery is free on rentals of three days or more and on any car priced at AED 500 a day or above; shorter rentals of cheaper cars carry a delivery fee, and branch pickup is always free. The driver walks you through the car, checks your documents and hands over the keys, and collection at the end of the rental works the same way in reverse.

Yes, every car comes with comprehensive insurance included in the price. That cover carries an excess, the most you'd pay if the car is damaged in an at-fault accident, plus a processing fee on that excess. The exact figures sit on each car's page under insurance.

It depends on the car. The cheapest is a Nissan Sunny at AED 75 a day, and economy hatchbacks and small sedans like it are the cheapest way in; SUVs and business sedans sit in the middle, and sports and luxury cars cost the most. Weekly and monthly plans cut the daily rate noticeably. Every price you see on a car page is live, and the checkout shows the full total before you pay.

Yes, and monthly is the cheapest way to run a car here. The daily rate drops well below what you'd pay day by day, servicing and registration stay our problem, and you're not locked into a bank loan or a long lease. Most residents who rent with us are on monthly plans for exactly that reason.

Book on the website in a few minutes. Choose the car, set your dates and delivery address, and pay online. We confirm by phone or WhatsApp, and for most of Dubai the car can be with you the same day if you book early enough. Airport handovers are timed against your flight arrival.
