GAC is Guangzhou Automobile Group, the Chinese partner that builds Toyotas and Hondas for the Chinese market in shared factories. Rent GAC cars in Dubai from Bintali and the grid is two models: the GS3 Emzoom, a compact crossover we list in 2024, 2025, and 2026 model years, and the 2024 Emkoo, a longer five-seater. Collecting either from our branch is always free. A GAC Emzoom rental is the answer more often than the Emkoo.
The cabin is the sales pitch
The Emzoom is equipped the way a Japanese crossover is at a higher rent. The 1.5-litre turbo makes 174 hp through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the dash has a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless CarPlay, and there's a reversing camera and a sunroof you'll keep shut from May to September. The cabin is quieter than the Nissan Kicks and the seats are better shaped than the MG ZS, the two cars most people cross-shop it against.
GS3 Emzoom or Emkoo
Book the Emzoom for one or two people and the Emkoo when adults will ride in the back every day. The Emzoom is 4.41 metres long with a boot of about 340 litres, and it fits the older Bur Dubai and Deira car parks without a second attempt. The Emkoo is 27 centimetres longer on a longer wheelbase, and an adult behind a tall driver has knee room in it and not much in the Emzoom.
Both use the same 1.5 turbo, the same gearbox, and front-wheel drive. Neither is an off-road car.

Take the newest Emzoom showing on the day. The spec is the same across all three years and the newer car has fewer kilometres on it. The 2024 is white, the 2025 is aqua blue, and the 2026 is grey. The aqua blue is the one people photograph, so book it early. Any of the three is typical of the grid, not a promise of a specific car.
Rent GAC cars in Dubai unless you need seven seats or four-wheel drive
If you came to GAC for the GS8, we don't list it. The seven-seaters on our fleet are the Jetour X70 Plus and the MG RX9 among the seven-seat SUVs. If you need four-wheel drive for the Hatta tracks, the Jetour T2 is the car, not either GAC. If you want to cross-shop the Emzoom, the Coolray on the Geely grid is the closest match for equipment, and the Haval Jolion the closest for size.
For most people the answer is the newest Emzoom, and the Emkoo only when the back seat is in daily use.
FAQ — Common Questions Answered.
Which country is GAC from, and is it owned by Toyota?
GAC is Chinese, state-owned through the Guangzhou city government, and Toyota holds no stake in it. What confuses people is the name on the card: GS3 Emzoom is the car's full name, and the boot lid of the car we hand you says Emzoom only, so it's the same car. The 1.5 turbo and the dual-clutch gearbox are GAC's own designs rather than Toyota parts, so don't expect a Corolla's gearbox manners from it.
Is it worth it to rent GAC cars in Dubai instead of a Japanese crossover?
Yes, for a rental, where the doubts people have about buying a young Chinese brand don't apply. You aren't carrying the resale value or the ten-year reliability question. You're driving a car that's two years old at most for a week or a month and handing it back. The one thing to adjust to is the dual-clutch gearbox, which hesitates for half a second when you crawl up a tight Marina tower ramp or creep through a mall car park queue, where a CVT just rolls. Give it a beat before you expect it to move and it stops bothering you by the second day.
Does the Emzoom's air conditioning cope with a Dubai summer?
It does. The Emzoom cools the cabin from a sun-baked car park to comfortable within a few minutes and holds it there at motorway speed in August. The grey 2026 gets hotter sitting outside than the white 2024, which is the only reason to pick the white one in summer.
Will the Emzoom or the Emkoo manage a desert track?
No, not in the sense of sand or dunes. Both are front-wheel-drive crossovers on road tyres with no low range, so a graded track to a picnic spot at Hatta is fine and the desert isn't. If your week includes a dune run, the Jetour T2 or the Nissan Patrol are the cars, and off-road use is agreed at booking for those.
GAC Emzoom or Emkoo for a family of four?
It depends on the children's ages more than on the headcount. Two under-fives in child seats fit the Emzoom, because they don't need the knee room and the outer rear seats of both cars have ISOFIX anchors. What actually fills the Emzoom is the folded stroller, which takes most of the boot on its own. Two teenagers are a different rental, and that's the Emkoo, or the X70 Plus if the four of you land with a large case each. If you need a child seat supplied, ask at booking so it's in the car at handover.
